Event titles

Project

To create event visuals for a ted talk speaker, that will be displayed on screen as title sequences between various sections of the talk.

Details

The speaker provided the dice concept, and was happy to reuse the same rolling animation for the various titles due to cost restraints. The animation was dynamically driven, using physics based calculations to simulate a dice rolling. Because of this, the outcome is unknown until the simulation is generated, so multiple simulations were created until we found a roll that worked well with the camera. After which separate layers were rendered, so that additional lighting effects could be added to give a futuristic feel to the final videos.

Comments

The client was very pleased with the outcome of their concept, and the talk was a great success. It feels that the additional post production work brought the piece to life, as creating this futuristic feel within the 3d software would have been much more time consuming and costly.
